CEO in a Fantasy World 3 Page 4

A door behind the bar opened, and a woman with long red hair, attractive facial features, and a curvaceous figure entered.

"How was the meeting, my darling?" she asked as she walked in the door.

"It went well! The empress is back, and our son is finally going to battle and getting a chance to prove himself!" Faust carried an expression that screamed 'praise me.'

"Haha, good job" She chuckled softly and walked behind the counter.

"Ah, let me introduce you… this is my wife Vivian," Faust said while gesturing to his wife.

"And this is a genius strategist and fighter that the empress brought back, ah, I forgot his name" Faust scratched his head with an embarrassed smile.

"I go by Mephisto. However, my friends call me Caesar," he introduced himself courteously and put his hand out toward Vivian.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Vivian," he said with a slight smile.

"Likewise, to gain the respect of my husband is to gain the respect of me," she said as she shook his hand enthusiastically.

Caesar nodded his head in response and took his hand back. Vivian turned around and took out a few bottles from below the counter.

"Since the three of you have come here, that means you want to get drunk, right?" she asked with a playful smile and grabbed three clear glasses.

"You know me so well, sweetheart!" Faust said with his eyes glued on the far-right bottle.

Vivian took the bottle that Faust was looking at and carefully poured it into all three of their glasses until they were all half full.

"Thank you" Caesar thanked her and twirled the glass of alcohol in his hands, he sniffed it carefully and took a small sip.

'Gin?' Caesar thought, inwardly. It tasted similar to how Gin tasted in his past life, except this alcohol tasted a bit more fiery.

"Ah, I can never get tired of this amazing flavor!" Faust commented from his left, while Leo, to his right, was the complete opposite.

"Sorry, misses Vivian, can I get a softer drink?" Leo asked with a shy smile.

"Of course, you can," Vivian responded with a wide grin and poured the rest of Leo's drink into Caesar's glass.

She took out another bottle and poured it into Leo's glass, presumably wine. Caesar smiled wryly and continued to take small sips of his now full glass of what seemed to be a powerful form of Gin.

"What is the name of this alcohol?" Caesar asked curiously.

"We call it flame nectar," Vivian calmly explained.

Caesar nodded his head in understanding and took another sip while Vivian leaned down on the counter and rested her chin on her palm.

"If I may ask, what did the empress promise you?" Vivian suddenly asked.

Caesar put his glass down and tilted his head, "what do you mean?"

"I mean, a genius strategist and a fighter that can gain the respect of my husband is surely expensive… I wonder what she is giving you in return for helping our clan, or perhaps, you're doing it for free?"

Caesar calmly examined the lady in front of him. His eyes showed no ripples as he looked at her.

Suddenly, his lips curled as he guzzled the rest of the fire nectar in his glass.

"She gave me… everything," Caesar said with a wide smile, and Vivian’s eyes opened wide in surprise.

Suddenly the bar door opened, and a slightly short woman with long violet hair, yellow eyes, cute face, foxy features, and a curvaceous figure entered. She was a complete Vixen!

  This was, of course, Renee.

  CHAPTER EIGHT

Once Renee entered the bar, everyone went silent and stared at her curiously.

Renee didn't care much about their gaze and walked over to Caesar, "can I sit next to him?" she asked Leo politely.

  "Y-yes empress!"

Leo scooted to the right and let Renee take his seat, she sat down elegantly and stared at Vivian with provocation.

Caesar leaned towards her and put his lips close to her ear, "you don't seem to be in a very good mood, love," he whispered so that the others couldn't hear him.

"Hmph, what are you doing here?" Renee snorted and asked.

Caesar glanced around the room, curiously for a few seconds before turning back toward Renee. "Naturally, I'm in the bar, to drink," he spoke with a sly smile plastered on his face, which angered Renee even more.

Vivian loudly slammed down a glass of wine in front of Renee, effectively interrupting what looked to be, Caesar and her lovers' quarrel.

"Is this what you meant by 'everything'" Vivian asked Caesar with a knowing smile.

Caesar studied her expression and fluctuations of mana within her body. However, he could not detect any ill intent or bad feelings.

"Oi, why are you staring at my wife so seriously?" Faust broke Caesar out of his thought and patted him on the shoulder.

"No reason, in particular, I was just admiring her beauty," Caesar replied without thinking about the Vixen to his right.

"Hmph, too bad she's already married, you scoundrel," Renee spoke coldly while sipping her glass of wine.

A wry smile suddenly appeared on Caesar's lips. He was curious as to how Renee even figured out where he was.

Suddenly, Faust slammed the table with his glass of flame nectar and smiled in gratification. "I must thank you, Caesar, no one was willing to send my son out to battle because he was too young, but now, he can finally become a man!" he interrupted everyone with his drunken ramblings.

"Where is he going to battle at? Is it safe?" Vivian asked worriedly.

"Haha, don't worry… He's going to ambush the trolls once they try and abduct the kobold women," Faust said reassuringly while filling up his glass with more flame nectar, himself.

"Well, at least it's an easy mission… I'm surprised he got sent out to battle on the first meeting he attended," Vivian spoke with astonishment.

Caesar opened his eyes wide at her words and entered into deep contemplation.

"You better hope my son comes back safely, mister strategist, haha," Vivian said jokingly while chuckling.

  *screech*

Caesar suddenly stood up from his barstool and faked an expression of being entirely under the influence.

"Where is the kobold clan located?" he asked while slurring.

"Hehe, you can really hold your alcohol, but, even the mightiest fall sooner or later," Vivian chuckled gently and pointed north.

"The Kobold clan is to the north, about a two hours walking distance," Renee further explained.

"I see, well, I'm going to head to my room now," Caesar spoke while slowly walking toward the door.

Everyone looked at him curiously as he left, "perhaps he doesn't like the feeling of being drunk?" Leo asked curiously as he left.

"Who cares, let him sleep it off," Renee responded coldly.

Once Caesar closed the door behind him, his face immediately cleared up, and his eyes were freezing cold.

He ran down the hallways of the mansion and headed to the outer gates, he ran as swiftly as he could, resulting in the floor beneath him to slightly crack with every step.

He soon reached the outer gates unnoticed and crouched down. He launched off the ground and practically flew into the air.

Fissures appeared on the ground where he launched off from, while in the air, he maneuvered his body to land on the outer wall silently.

He stealthily passed by the guards stationed on the wall, jumped down, and started running north. While running, he entered into deep thought.

'If Carlie's mother isn't the other spy, that means it's one of the other clan heads… And if it's not Charlie's mother, that would also mean the other spy would have no qualms about killing Charlie,' he thought to himself bitterly.

Caesar stroked his chin while passed by the thick trees at an astonishing pace, his eyes wildly rotated as he dodged the nature blocking his path.

'If someone in that meeting warned the trolls right after, then that would mean Charlie and the 30 other elites would inevitably die, and the other cl
an heads, including Faust, would question my ability to lead… Resulting in making my position in the clan becoming shaky, which would also mean that Renee would have to take some blame for bringing me in,' Caesar thought inwardly.

Thinking to here, Caesar's eyes radiated a deep killing intent as he started to make even wider strides. If Renee was taken accountable, then she might have no choice but to offer herself to the troll prince. That is, of course, on the presumption that her grandfather did nothing to assist her.

'How surprising, this is the first time since my rebirth that I've been played so thoroughly… I suppose this war between the trolls will be much harder to solve than I had initially thought.'

Caesar continued running through the lush forest for about 20 more minutes until finally, he reached what looked to be a small fort.

He jumped on top of a tall tree and carefully examined the surroundings encompassing the fort.

He could see little furry creatures walking on top of the walls carrying vigilant expressions. They looked quite cute. However, they could not be considered pretty.

Caesar scanned the road next to the fort thoroughly and could see a few carts moving toward the front gate of the small encampment, tall and lean creatures were pulling the wagons, they had bluish skin and long tusks hanging out from their mouths.

Caesar then raised his eyes and could see a few fox-kin men waiting in a bush just a few meters ahead of the carts.

"Sigh, it would appear I made it in time" Caesar breathed out a sigh of relief and couldn't help but gasp for breath… Running at full speed for 20 minutes was truly tiring.

  CHAPTER NINE

Caesar peered down at the moving carts led by what he assumed to be the trolls. They moved slowly and confidently. Their expressions showcased their lust and arrogance.

'This isn't enough to pose a threat to the thirty elites led by Charlie… did I overthink things?' Caesar thought to himself as the cart approached the fox-kin men lying in wait.

Time seemed to stop as the cart reached the point where the fox-kin men were hiding, the elites led by Charlie ambushed the trolls at the perfect time and succeeded in surprising them.

Surprise flashed on the faces of the trolls as they drew their weapons in retaliation, but it was already too late. The elites, without a change in expression, quickly cut down the startled trolls.

Each of the fox-kin elites coated their blades in some sort of flame and charged forward. The tall and lanky trolls attempted to fight back, but it was clear that they were a few levels down in strength when compared to the fox-kin elites.

Caesar, who was still on the tree, captured this sight with his own eyes, 'is it possible that it was too late for the trolls to intervene… or perhaps, I'm actually overthinking things?' Caesar couldn't help but feel baffled at the current development.

As Caesar was busy with his own thoughts, the fox-kin elites made quick work of the remnant trolls. Blood splattered on their faces and clothes. However, the elites stayed calm throughout the entire battle.

Suddenly, the sound of arrows flying through the air broke Caesar out of his deep contemplation. A few dozen arrows traveled toward the fox-kin men. They quickly hid behind the carts or raised their shields to block them.

"Haha, you fox filth… Do you really think you could ambush us?" a sinister voice resounded in everyone's ears and from the distance 30 or so trolls led by a troll seated on top of a horse entered into their sight.

'How interesting, it would appear that they were late to the party… It took them about two hours to reach this location, and from the looks of it, they rushed as quickly as they could,' Caesar thought inwardly as he observed the trolls gasping for breath from afar.

Caesar quietly hopped off the tree and stealthily moved closer to the fox-kin elites, he wanted to be capable of intervening at the best possible moment… he moved into a bush just a few meters away from the carts.

As Caesar got closer, he got a better sight of the fox-kin men and could quickly pinpoint Charlie amongst them. He had a much shorter and slimmer physique when compared to the other fox-kin, and most apparent of all, he was shaking with fear while the others were relatively calm.

"Hahaha, the little foxes are hiding… TAKE OUT THE CEROS" the troll that was leading the others atop his horse ordered vehemently. The smaller trolls by his side nodded their head and walked to the back lines, after about five or so seconds, a substantial armored creature showed itself.

It stood at the very least 4 meters tall. It boasted a compact and robust body covered in heavy armor. On its long snout, it had three horns and another on its head.

Caesar, who was still hiding in the bush, opened his eyes with surprise. The beast was similar to a rhinoceros and elephant combined. However, it looked much more prominent and deadlier.

The troll on top of the horse smiled with glee, he raised his hand and pointed to the carts the fox-kin men were currently hiding behind… "GO MY BEAUTIFUL BEAST, DESTROY THEM!" he ordered.

The Ceros sniffed the air a few times and rubbed its front paws on the ground before lowering its body and entering into a charging stance… the Ceros snorted loudly once more and charged forward with everything it had.

Every time the beast's feet hit the ground, a loud quaking rang in Caesar's ears, the sound it created, made it easy to understand how massive this creature was.

The fox-kin elites behind the carriage all stood up and raised their shields, resolve, and determination gleamed in their eyes. It was apparent this was not their first time dealing with such a monster.

As the creature got closer to the cart, the trolls smile got wider, and the fox-kin men frowned, suddenly, from a nearby bush, a piercing crimson radiated out.

The Ceros immediately put its feet down and stopped its charge, large droplets of sweat fell from its body as it gazed at the bush.

Caesar stood up and soon became the center of attention, the elites behind the cart opened their eyes wide in surprise while the trolls smiled with disdain.

"How dare you surprise our Ceros with your petty tricks, I don't care if you're a part of the fox-kin race or not, this forest will be your grave" The man leading the trolls spoke sinisterly and ordered the Ceros once more.

But, contrary to his expectations, the Ceros didn't move; in fact, it turned its body and fled into the forest, not even sparing a glance toward the trolls.

"Haha, it would appear your beautiful beast has abandoned you" Caesar spoke sarcastically while chuckling.

"W-what tricks did you use? What did YOU DO TO OUR CEROS?" the troll leader asked with anger, he carried a heavy accent, similar to Jamaicans in Caesar's past life.

"I didn't do anything in particular, I think it was just scared of me," Caesar said with a sly smile which angered the trolls even more.

"Do you know who we are? Or perhaps, you're too idiotic to know the gravity of what you've just done. I'm going to enjoy ripping your bones out," the troll leader said through clenched teeth and pulled out his sword.

"I've been disappointed with my last few battles, you see? I'm always being restricted by not being allowed to kill or having to hide my abilities… but it's fine if all of you die, right?" Caesar asked playfully.

  CHAPTER TEN

The trolls looked at Caesar as if he was the biggest idiot they had ever seen; they smiled with disdain and knocked their bows with an arrow.

Caesar didn't pay much heed to their arrogance; in fact, he preferred his enemies to look down on him. It was much more pleasurable to destroy confident enemies in comparison to cautious ones.

A dark mist suddenly enveloped Caesar's entire right arm. Its consistency was thicker than the last time he had used it, similar to black sand.

'Hmm, I still can't release my authority too far away from my body,' Caesar thought inwardly as the ominous mist intertwined around his arm as if it was alive.

"W-what the hell is that?" one of the trolls asked anxiously…

"Don't worry, it's just another on
e of his petty tricks, FIRE THE ARROWS!" the troll leader ordered sternly.

Before the troll archers could complete their orders, a few small pieces of ice invaded their necks, causing blood to spew out and paint their allies red with blood.

The other troll archers were dazed for a few seconds before, finally, getting a hold of themselves and firing at the still stationary Caesar.

The arrows traveled toward Caesar at an astonishing speed. However, Caesar's calm expression didn't change in the slightest as he gracefully raised his left hand and formed a small rectangular shield of ice.
